Pistols: | Loaded with 5 rounds each, holstered with hammer down on an empty chamber. |
Rifle: | Loaded with 10 rounds, staged safely with action closed on an empty chamber and hammer down. |
Shotgun: | Open and empty, staged safely with 4+ rounds on person. |

Gun Order is shooter’s choice, except that rifle cannot be last. Shooter is standing behind table of choice with hands on shotgun, rifle, pistol or pistols. |
Shooter signifies ready by saying the line:

Pistols: |
Draw pistols in accordance with your category and engage the pistol targets from Table 1 with a Hillbilly sweep from either direction. A Hillbilly sweep is a Nevada Sweep with a double-tap on the end targets and a single tap on the middle targets. (Example: P1-P1, P2, P3, P4-P4, P3, P2, P1-P1.) Holster empty pistols. |
Rifle: |
Retrieve the rifle and engage the Cowboy rifle targets from Table 2 with a Hillbilly sweep from either direction. (Example: R1-R1, R2, R3, R4-R4, R3, R2, R1-R1.) Make rifle safe. |
Shotgun: |
Retrieve the shotgun. From Table 3 engage the shotgun targets in any order. Make shotgun safe. |
When finished shooting, retrieve guns and proceed to the unloading table. |
STAGE 2
Pistols: | Loaded with 5 rounds each, holstered with hammer down on an empty chamber. |

Shooter signifies ready by saying the line: “You’re just itchin’ fer trouble!” | |
Pistols: | Draw pistols in accordance with your category and engage the pistol targets from Table 1 with a Badger sweep from either direction, that is, sweep the four targets from either direction, then the first three from the same direction, then the first two, then the first one. (Example: P1-P2-P3-P4, P1-P2-P3, P1-P2, P1.) Holster empty pistols. |
Rifle: | Retrieve the rifle and engage the Round rifle targets from Table 2 with a Badger sweep from either direction. (Example: R5-R6-R7-R8, R5-R6-R7, R5-R6, R5.) Make rifle safe. |
Shotgun: | Retrieve the shotgun. From Table 3 engage the shotgun targets in any order. Make shotgun safe. |
When finished shooting, retrieve guns and proceed to the unloading table. |
STAGE 3 –
Pistols: | Loaded with 5 rounds each, holstered with hammer down on an empty chamber. |
Rifle: | Loaded with 10 rounds, staged safely with action closed on an empty chamber and hammer down. |
Shotgun: | Open and empty, staged safely with 4+ rounds on person. Additional shotgun rounds may be staged on Table 3. |
Start: | Shooter is standing behind table of choice with hands on hips. Gun order is shooter’s choice, except that the rifle cannot be last. |
Shooter signifies ready by saying the line: “I see a falling star!” | |
Pistols: | Draw pistols in accordance with your category and engage the pistol targets from Table 1 with a 3-2-3-2 sweep from either direction. (Example: P1-P1-P1, P2-P2, P3-P3-P3, P4-P4.) Holster empty pistols. |
Rifle: | Retrieve the rifle and engage the Texas Star target from Table 3 with up to 10 shots. After all the paddles are knocked off the Star engage the dump target with any remaining rounds. Any paddles left on the star count as misses. A miss on the dump target is a miss. Make rifle safe. |
Shotgun: | Retrieve the shotgun. From Table 3 engage the shotgun targets in any order. Each miss on the Texas Star (remaining paddles) may be made up by hitting the Dump target with one shotgun round, either before or after engaging the shotgun targets. Make shotgun safe. |
When finished shooting, retrieve guns and proceed to the unloading table. |
Stage 4
Pistols: | Loaded with 5 rounds each, holstered with hammer down on an empty chamber. |
Rifle: | Loaded with 10 rounds, staged safely with action closed on an empty chamber and hammer down. |
Shotgun: | Open and empty, staged safely with 4+ rounds on person. |
Start: | Shooter is standing behind table of choice with hands at low surrender. Gun order is shooter’s choice, except that the rifle cannot be last. |

Pistols: | Draw pistols in accordance with your category and engage the pistol targets from Table 1 with a J. B. Corn sweep. That is, double-tap each target from either direction, then single-tap the two middle targets from either direction. (Example: P1-P1, P2-P2, P3-P3, P4-P4, P3, P2.) Holster empty pistols. |
Rifle: | Retrieve the rifle and engage the Round rifle targets from Table 2 with a J. B. Corn sweep. That is, double-tap each target from either direction, THEN single-tap the two middle targets from either direction. (Example: R5-R5, R6-R6, R7-R7, R8-R8, R7, R6.) Make rifle safe. |
Shotgun: | Retrieve the shotgun. From Table 3 engage the shotgun targets in any order. Make shotgun safe. |

Pistols: | Draw pistols in accordance with your category and engage the pistol targets from Table 1 by engaging target 1 with one shot, target 3 with 3 shots, target 2 with 2 shots, and target 4 with 4 shots, in that order. (Example: P1, P3-P3-P3, P2-P2, P4-P4-P4-P4.) Holster empty pistols. |
Rifle: | Retrieve the rifle and engage the Cowboy rifle targets from Table 2 by engaging target 1 with one shot, target 3 with 3 shots, target 2 with 2 shots, and target 4 with 4 shots, in that order. (Example: R1, R3-R3-R3, R2-R2, R4-R4-R4-R4.) Make rifle safe. |
Shotgun: | Retrieve the shotgun. From Table 3 engage the shotgun targets in any order. Make shotgun safe. |

STAGE 6 –

Shooter signifies ready by saying the line: “Your shooting spree ends here!” | |
Pistols: | Draw pistols in accordance with your category and engage the pistol targets from Table 1 with 5 shots on P2 AND 5 shots on P3. (Example: P2-P2-P2-P2-P2, P3-P3-P3-P3-P3.) Holster empty pistols. |
Rifle: | Retrieve the rifle and engage the Cowboy rifle targets from Table 2 with 5 shots on P2 AND 5 shots on P3. (Example: P2-P2-P2-P2-P2, P3-P3-P3-P3-P3.) Make rifle safe. |
Shotgun: | Retrieve the shotgun. From Table 3 engage the shotgun targets in any order. Make shotgun safe. |
